NSW:Live up to Anzac ideals - O'Farrell
BARRY O'FARRELL has called on Australians to live up to the ideals of the Anzac spirit
.. during a commemorative address in Sydney.
The New South Wales premier has today addressed the annual service that's held outside
the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park.
He's paid special tribute to World War One diggers JOE and OLIVER CUMBERLAND .. whose
story has since appeared in the 2005 documentary Gallipoli.
Mr O'FARRELL says Anzac and Gallipoli has come to occupy a central place in Australia's
national psyche .. and has also remembered the men and women currently serving in Afghanistan
and Iraq.
