Vic: Doyle faces "mission impossible" for state election bid

Polls show Victorian opposition leader ROBERT DOYLE faces an impossible task to win
November's state election.

At 31 per cent .. Mr DOYLE's unlikely to threaten the popular Premier STEVE BRACKS
.. who's riding the wave of post-Commonwealth Games euphoria.

According to the McNair Gallup Poll .. commissioned by the Sunday Herald Sun .. 69
per cent of Victorians prefer Mr Bracks as premier.

The poll also shows 51 per cent of voters would have backed Labor last week .. while
only 36 per cent would have voted for Liberal or National.
