Vic: Opposition criticises sex offender's shopping centre visit

The Victorian opposition says it was inappropriate to allow an intellectually disabled
child-sex offender to step into a shopping centre during a supervised visit.

PAUL CUDMORE absconded during a supervised visit to a Melbourne suburban shopping centre
on Sunday.

Police have described 19-year-old CUDMORE as a serious risk to the community.

Opposition community services spokeswoman HELEN SHARDEY says the government's own review
of disability services in 2001 suggested such outings should not take place. …
